Training & activities

Training at the club builds step by step — from stance and bow to complex combinations. Below are the areas we work on; exact groups and times are confirmed by the club.

01Fundamentals — kihon

Stances, punches, kicks, blocks and movement. Kihon is the alphabet of karate: it is repeated in every session and underpins everything else.

02Kata

A kata is a set sequence of techniques performed against imagined opponents. It teaches rhythm, precision, breathing and focus, and preserves the tradition of the style.

03Kumite

Controlled sparring with a partner, from pre-arranged drills to freer exchanges. The emphasis is on control, distance, timing and respect for your partner.

04Conditioning, coordination and balance

Age-appropriate work on strength, flexibility, speed and balance. The aim is a healthy, well-rounded body, not exhaustion.

05Beginners

New members start with the basics: dojo etiquette, the bow, stances and safe falling. No previous experience is needed.

06Children, youth and adults

Karate can be practised at any age. Groups by age and level are announced by the club — contact us for current information.

07Preparing for gradings and competition

Members who wish to can prepare for belt gradings and competitions, in agreement with their coach.

08Schedule and participation

Training times and venue will be published once confirmed by the club. Until then, call or send us a message for current sessions.
